James B. Giltner is a Partner of Giltner & Associates, where for over four decades he has guided individuals, families, business owners, and institutions through the complex intersections of wealth, planning, and protection.
A 1981 graduate of the University of Dayton's School of Business, Jim began his career with Mutual of New York (MONY) immediately upon graduation. He went on to earn numerous industry and company honors, served as Chairman of MONY's Professional Development and Ethics and Liability Task Force Committees, and held leadership positions — including President — with the Akron Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Today, his practice at Giltner & Associates focuses on estate planning, executive benefits, and pre-retirement strategies for professionals, small business owners, and professional sports organizations. Jim is also a Certified Structured Settlement Consultant and has represented law firms and their clients on structured settlements.
Outside the office, Jim lives in Dayton, Ohio with his wife Gail. Together they take particular pride in their six children — now building careers and families of their own — and the ten, almost eleven, grandchildren who are their greatest treasure. A lifelong musician, Jim was an accomplished trumpet player during his university years and still carries a love of music with him today.
